The Bear Nad the Girl

It is a story of a few years ago, there was a city, a small town which was situated in the middle of a forest. No one knew how a city was built in the midst of such a dense forest. It was surrounded by dense neem and rosewood trees which looked like a wall. This city was cut off from the whole world, there were no vehicles, no big buildings, no noise, no electric wires. There was a different world here which was completely governed by the laws of nature and its given things. As soon as it got dark evening, to fulfill the need of light, lakhs of fireflies used to come down in the city which would have lit up the whole city. It got so bright that it felt like a day. Mother Nature used to send someone or the other for every such work and the city would go on. Human beings were a minority in this small town, the surrounding forest was full of dangerous animals, but till date it had not happened that any human in the city had to fall prey to them. In the heart of the city was Roshni's house, Roshni, an 8-year-old girl whose parents worked as a honey-collector. they used to collect honey all day and then sell it to the people of the city, from this they used to make a living. Roshni also used to go round the forest with her parents many times where she would get tired of wandering in search of honey. In this search, all three of them had gone to a hill across the river one day. Her father was on the tree to collect the honey, and she was standing with her mother downstairs where she had to collect the honey from the hive in her wooden vessel. As she walked to the bank of the river, she found something in the bushes with bright eyes staring at the tree where her father was trying to break the hive for honey. He looked carefully and saw that there was a bear, with very bright eyes, blonde hair and chubby body.He should have been afraid, ohh!  Bear, he had heard that bears are very cruel and violent animals and when given a chance, they chew on humans like a cucumber. She shuddered as soon as she thought of this. But don't know why slowly he kept getting less scared. She saw in his bright eyes the ambition and hope of eating honey, their sparkle made her laugh, and the bear was startled to hear her giggle and hurried down into the river. She came back and told this to her mother. The mother listened carefully to the whole story, then turned her head and said, "Daughter! You must have seen Goldie Bear. He has been in this forest for many years but very few people can see him. He is the only living member of his family." Heard that somewhere far away there is a world where people are very dangerous, they have big weapons and vehicles that go into the forests and kill animals to beautify their homes with their skins. Same happened with him, his family was killed by humans from outside world because of his beauty. He is the only one of his kind left in this forest. God bless him."

Roshni was very sad to hear this story, she started wanting to see the bear again, she didn't know why she started getting scared that the story might be repeated. In this worry, she fell asleep lying next to her mother.

The next morning she again went to the forest with her parents. When both of them were looking for honey hives, Raushni got stuck in one place. A short distance away, he saw again the same bright-eyed and golden-haired Goldi Bear, who had been watching Roshni's father go by, hiding in the bushes. Now he was beginning to understand, in fact Goldi Bear and Roshni's father were in an unknown relationship, as when they used to break the hives for honey, Goldie used to take out the remaining honey from those hives and eat it and now  It had become his regular routine. But today raushni came very close to him, Goldie, staring at the hives, did not knew it. As soon as Roshni touched his golden hair with his hand, he suddenly turned and threw Roshni on the ground with his claws. It was an unintentional reaction. Goldie had seen Roshni with her father several times, so He knew that there was no danger. When he recognized her, he took off his paw and sat on one side in a posture of remorse as if he felt sorry for her. Raushni got up and he lovingly stroked Goldie's hair by hand.

He loved doing it and for Goldie it was a game, he was enjoying. When both of them had been playing for a long time, then her mother's voice came "Daughter! come on, now our work is done". Upon hearing this, Raushni said bye, waving her hand over Goldie's eyes. He had found a different and unique friend today. Both did not know each other's language but understood everything. Now it used to happen that whenever Roshni went to the forest with her parents, she would play with Goldie for hours. In this way a deep relationship was formed between the two.

Then one day it happened that Goldie did not come, the next day he did not come again and a week passed by doing so. Roshni started feeling sad that where has Goldie gone? what happened to her ? In this thought, she started to remain silent.

When her mother understood this, she tried to amuse Roshni. When she did not agree, her mother told that some people in the city were talking that people from outside world had come again in the forest. They were with weapons and were looking for a particular animal to hunt. Heard that  golden bear has been caught and they will get a very good price. Maybe he must be  Goldie, he alone was the most special golden pearl of this forest.

Hearing this, Roshni's heart sank. His tears started flowing. He felt very sad. She started thinking, why? Why are the rights of animals and humans different in this world? After all, they have the first right over the forest, don't they? Why should they become the decoration of our homes? In the mixed circumstances of anger and sadness, Roshni kept thinking all night. And the next morning... maybe she had found his way. He was determined that now was the time to bring about change. It's time to fight, he picked up his father's bow and arrows hanging behind the door and hung them on his shoulders and walked away... to build a new army... that would fight for the rights of this forest, for the animals, for the rights of every animal of this earth, for the bird... for the trees, for the flowers... so that no one's life is lost to beautify someone's dining room. No raushni was changed to a nature's commander fighting for the earth.
